Wide leg cropped pants are one of my favorite items to wear during the hot summer months. They are particularly my favorite for wearing to the office during summer. Wide leg crops offer the “breeze ability” of a skirt with the coverage and comfort of pants. Last year, my office approved us to wear shorts during the summer months. That’s a little too casual for my taste. Cropped pants make me feel like I’ve got summer time wardrobe options for the office without the unnecessary exposure of shorts.
Cropped pants can also be a tall girls best friend. Pants that are intentionally meant to be too short, basically the story of my life! It would be nice if these cropped pants came in a long length as sometimes I prefer a cropped pant hit closer to the ankle, but since these are wide leg, and almost more of a culotte, I feel like I can pull off this length. The wide leg silhouette is also flattering on a plus size figure.
I recently picked up this navy pair from Lane Bryant thinking they’d be perfect for my casual office. Their modern stretch fabric feels cool against the skin as it skims the body without being tight. In fact, the modern stretch fabric has enough stretch that provides all day comfort. I have other pants from Lane Bryant also made of this fabric and most days I prefer their comfort to wearing a pair of jeans. While I may not be returning to my office anytime soon, these wide leg crops will still be added to my summer work wardrobe. Although I imagine I’ll be dressing them down with t-shirts and sandals. I decided to also pick them up in white when I noticed that they were a part of the door buster sale for only $20.
