I think its safe to say that the cold shoulder and off the shoulder trend is definitely here to stay! Everywhere I look there are bare shoulders. And like everyone else, I am definitely here for this trend. What I’m not here for is strapless bras! As a plus size girl, I’ve yet to find one that is both truly comfortable to wear and serves it’s purpose of holding up the girls. So if the bare shoulder trend is leaving you feeling a bit over exposed, I’ve got a simple solution. Add a vest over your off the shoulder top! A vest will allow you to wear a regular bra with the off the shoulder top and add a bit of layering and interest to your outfit, all while still allowing you to give a little cold shoulder!
For this look, I added a light weight linen vest. I love the drawstring feature on this vest, it allows me to give a bit of a cinched in allusion at the waistline because this top is very loose and flowing. I’ve added a basic pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, which are a wardrobe stable. If pairing an off the shoulder top with something other than jeans, I think a denim vest makes an excellent and stylish addition. Since we’ve been having some cooler spring days, I decided to style this look with these taupe colored lace up booties that can easily be swapped out for a pair of strappy sandals when the weather warms up.
