Off the Shoulder Striped Dress

Hello again guys and dolls! I can’t tell you how excited I am at the fact that September has finally arrived, because that means fall can’t be far behind! However, the weather is still pretty warm and before we start focusing on transitioning outfits for fall, I thought I’d take this time to share this cute off the shoulder striped dress from Old Navy.

What I love about Old Navy is that they carry TALL sizes not only in pants but also in dresses, skirts, tops, outerwear and active wear. This means that sleeves and hem lines are all a little longer. I should mention that Old Navy leggings are my favorite brand for working out. Let me know if you’d like me to do a post specifically talking about their active wear leggings.

While my love of Old Navy tall sizes is real, there is one plus size caveat, and that is the sizes only go up to a 20 or 2XL. This is a major pet peeve I find with pretty much all brands that carry tall sizes. I do not understand why the tall sizes are not continued up into the full plus size range. However, with that being said, if the material has a little bit of stretch, such as sweaters or knit blazers, I find that I can usually make those sizes work even though I am a size 22.  And sometimes, as was the case with this dress,  I just get lucky and am pleasantly surprised that it fits. But I know for a fact, that had I purchased this dress from the plus size range, it would have been way too short. So by all means, don’t be afraid to try things in a 2XL Tall.

Okay, I lied, there is one other caveat about their tall sizes, which is they are only available online. But honestly if you are plus size or tall, you are probably already used to having to order online. I know, I know, I know, yet another pet peeve! But Old Navy does have free shipping on orders of $50 or more as well as free returns. So its totally worth it.

Now back to this dress! Although summer is technically over, I think this dress would be so perfect for a vacation getaway. You could pair it with a flat, strappy sandal or a pair of cute sneakers. Or throw this on over your swim suit as a cute cover up for hanging out at the beach or pool.
